Fragile, an urban garden by ROADSWORTH & B. ARMSTRONG
With the help of the Concordia University student body, Roadsworth – a.k.a. Peter Gibson – and Brian Armstrong collected their working material for eight months, directly from the recycling containers used in the Centre.
Their goal: transform this “so-called” residual waste into a garden within the heart of the city, into an awe-inspiring artistic project that travelled through the many levels of the Montréal Eaton Centre from June 2011 to March 2012, and raised awareness and consciousness on the actual value of these materials that surround us on a daily basis.
The thousands of visitors that came to see FRAGILE carried its message through the many levels of the Centre and beyond... way beyond: Roadsworth and Brian Armstrong's installation caught people's attention through social media and various publications around the world!
